Inspired by Irish culture, ancient Celtic art and illuminated manuscripts such as the Book of Kells, this necklace features a simple Trinity knot, also known as Triquetra, on a matching dainty sterling silver chain.
Trinity Knot is a triple interlocked infinity knot that is heavily featured in both pagan Celtic art (i.e. metalwork) and later Christian art (i.e. carved stone Celtic crosses). Today it is used by both modern pagans, symbolising all things threefold (such as the concept of the Triple Goddess), and Christians who started seeing it as a sign of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), especially during the Celtic revival in 19th century. Some regard it as a stylised representation of an Irish shamrock, a three leaf clover.
The knot is accompanied with a rhodochrosite gemstone cabochon in gentle, pale pink shades. According to the gemstone lore, rhodochrosite is considered to be a gentle stone connected to romantic love, empathy and soothing, healing energy.
